Abstract
In autumn 2021, university students protested in front of Palazzo Bo in Padua, bringing public attention to a problem that had long remained latent or underestimated: the severe lack of affordable student accommodation. Student housing emerged as an urgent issue in a city where the presence of students had been underestimated, if not almost neglected. The article highlights the lack of specific knowledge about student housing conditions, despite the large number of enrolled students, and investigates aspects of student living through the preliminary results of research on student housing in Padua.
